Bowie & Camp Knives
Big blades for big jobs. Hand forged bowies and camp knives built for chopping, batoning, clearing and everything else that asks more of a knife than slicing. Thick spines, full tangs, and handles that stay put when your hands are cold and wet.
A camp knife has to take abuse a hunting knife never sees, so these are forged heavier through the spine and left with a stouter edge geometry. Damascus and 1095 high carbon steel, with stag horn, bone and hardwood handles and a leather sheath built for carry rather than display.
If you want the chopping without the length, look at axes and hatchets. For a forward weighted blade that does both, see kukri knives.
