Throwing Axes

Axes forged to be thrown and thrown again. A throwing axe lives a hard life: it hits wood at speed, it misses and hits the floor, and it gets pulled out of a target a hundred times a night. So these are built around the eye and the handle fit rather than around a fine edge.

High carbon steel heads, hardened at the bit but kept tough through the body so an off centre hit chips the target and not the axe. Straight hickory handles, hung tight, and simple profiles that stick without needing a perfect rotation.
