Rasp Steel Knives

Knives forged from farrier rasps. A rasp is high carbon tool steel that has already spent its life on horse hooves, and when we draw it out under the hammer the file teeth stay readable along the spine and the flats. Nothing about the pattern is printed or etched. It is the tool the blade used to be.

Rasp steel takes a hard edge, sharpens easily on a stone in the field, and carries a working history you can see. It is carbon steel, so it will patina and it will rust if you neglect it. Wipe it dry, keep a light coat of oil on it, and it will outlast the person who buys it.

Our cowboy knives and bull cutters are the best sellers in this steel, alongside skinners and camp blades. Compare it with our other steels in Damascus and 1095 high carbon.
