Machetes
Long steel for clearing brush, trail and cane. A machete is a working tool before it is anything else, so these are forged thin enough to flex, full tang through the handle, and left with an edge you can bring back with a file in the field.
High carbon steel, hardwood or horn handles, and a leather sheath cut for the blade. Latin, bolo and parang influenced profiles depending on whether you are cutting soft green growth or heavier woody stems.
For a shorter, forward weighted chopper, see kukri knives. For full length blades, see hand forged swords.
