Bone Handle Knives

Bone handled knives, from plain polished scales to jigged and dyed work. Bone has been the working handle material for pocket knives and hunting knives for two centuries because it is hard, stable and takes a finish that ages well in the hand.

We use camel bone and cow bone, cut and fitted by hand to each blade. Jigged bone gets a texture cut into it for grip, smooth bone is polished up for dress knives and gifts, and dyed bone gives the colour without paint sitting on the surface.

Bone is stable but not indestructible. Keep it out of long soaks and direct heat. See it fitted to pocket knives, folding knives and hunting knives.
