Rosewood Handle Knives
Rosewood handled knives. Rosewood is dense, oily and dark, which is why it has been used on knives and tool handles for generations. It resists moisture better than most timbers, it does not need a thick finish, and it darkens with handling instead of wearing out.
We cut and fit each set of scales to the blade, then finish with oil rather than a plastic coating, so the wood keeps its feel. The grain runs from chocolate to near black with red through it, and no two sets look the same.
Rosewood is our most common kitchen handle because it stays comfortable wet. See chef knives and kitchen knives, or compare with olive wood.
