Left wet it will spot, and carried hard it darkens into a patina, which some hunters like and some do not.

The handle

Stag is the handle material most hunters ask for by name. This piece runs warm cream into tan, with the rough bark like surface of the antler left where your fingers close on it. That texture is the point. Stag does not go slippery when wet, so blood, rain or a cold hand do not cost you control. Three mosaic pins hold the scales through the tang. Looking after it

Wash it by hand and dry it right away. Never the dishwasher and never left soaking, since dishwasher damage voids the warranty. There is high carbon steel under the pattern, so wipe the blade after use and oil it before it goes away. Store it dry and let wet leather dry away from heat.
